Noah Libby-Haines

Teacher, technologist, and lifelong learner

I am a teacher based in Hanoi, Vietnam, with classroom experience teaching Vietnamese learners ages 4–15 and an academic background in statistics, computer science, and mathematics. I use clear structure, questioning, student agency, and thoughtfully chosen technology to support learning.

Currently pursuing U.S. teacher licensure with Computer Science and Mathematics endorsements, expected Summer 2026.

Classroom Experience

Recent full-time classroom teaching experience in Vietnam, working with learners from early years through lower secondary. Earlier instructional experience includes introductory programming and undergraduate statistics.

Academic Background

MA in Statistics from UC Berkeley. BS in Computer Science from Boston College. Strong foundations in quantitative reasoning and research methods.

Technology in the Classroom

I build original classroom tools and use them in class to support engagement, collaboration, review, and participation. This includes quick tools designed for a specific learning outcome, as well as reusable activities that can support review, practice, and participation across lessons.

My teaching emphasizes clarity, structure, and genuine understanding over surface-level performance. I am especially interested in helping learners access complex ideas through strong questioning, game-based practice, metacognition, and targeted scaffolding. I try to choose and adapt classroom materials to fit the needs of the students in front of me, whether that means adapting existing resources, or creating something new.

I create browser-based classroom activities to support specific lesson goals, such as vocabulary and grammar practice, reading in context, exam preparation, and whole-class participation. Some are quick one-off tools for a single class; others are reusable activities that can be adapted across lessons.

Language Learning Suite

Language Learning Suite

A suite of classroom vocabulary and grammar activities: a teacher-run class game with multiple game formats, a student self-study arcade for independent practice, and a unit content builder. All three tools share the same lesson content, supporting whole-class activities, independent review, and lesson preparation within one system.

Deployed with students at ILA Vietnam.
